Jeera Aloo is a typically a vegetarian dish. In this dish, the main ingredient is potato and jeera and some Indian spices. With this filling, you can make so many dishes like Kathi rolls, paratha, vada pav, samosa. This dish goes well with puri, dal and roti. Today in this recipe we will learn how to make a quick aloo jeera.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Potatoes1 kg
  • salt as per taste
  • water as required 
  • oil 15 ml
  • cumin seeds 10gm
  • green chilli 50gm
  • turmeric 2 gm
  • red chilly powder 2 gm
  • coriander leaves10 gm

METHOD:

  1. Rinse 5 to 6 medium-sized potatoes a couple of time in the water.
  2. Boil the potatoes with1.5 teaspoon salt till they are well cooked.
  3. Cooldown the potatoes peel and cut into small pieces.
  4. In a pan heat oil on medium flame
  5. Once the oil is hot add cumin seeds and let them crack.
  6. Add chopped green chillies and mix well add potatoes cubes and mix well.
  7. Sprinkle turmeric powder and red chilly powder and salt.
  8. Saute the potatoes for 2 to 3 minutes on low medium flame.
  9. Next, add chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Mix the whole mixture well and switch off the flame.
