       Makar Sankranti is one of the few Hindu festivals that falls on the same year on 14th Jan.In Maharashtra people celebrates this festival not just as harvest festival but to celebrate the triumph of goddess Sanskrit over demon Sankarsur .people celebrate this day with great enthusiasm and often greet each other with the words.'' तिळगुळ घ्या, आणि गोड-गोड बोला''.                           This festival comes in the winter season. Winter is the best season to consume til or sesame seeds because they're full of good fats and hence, are naturally warm and life-giving. A number of traditional food served on winter festivals like Lohri And Makar Sankranti have til seeds in them.                                   

 As per the Ayurveda knowledge, Winter is the period when Vata gets aggravated in the human body causing much distress in a body like joint pain and sore muscles.This aggravated levels of Vata can be controlled by eating a sweet and oily-combination of Til-Gul.


What is sesame seeds?

Sesame is a flowering plant in the genus sesamum also called benne. Numerous wild relatives occur in Africa and a smaller number in India.

 How to make Til k ladoo

 So today on the occasion of Makar Sankranti we are going to make tilache ladoo. Everyone loves to eat this recipe. people like to eat til ki chikki or til ladoo in winter. But often afraid to make it at home. Today we are telling you the recipe of til ladoo. Which is very easy to make You can make til ladoo in few minutes at home.

Yields:20balls

 Ingredients:

  • 1cup sesame seeds
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1/3 rd roasted peanuts
  • 2tsp water
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2tsp baking soda

Method:

1.To make til ke laddoo, heat a deep non-stick pan, add the sesame seeds and dry roast on a medium flame for 5 to 6 min.
2.Add ghee in a non-stick pan. add jaggery in the same pan. mix well on medium flame. stir it continuously. Add water into it.
3.To check the consistency of jaggery syrup. Drop a bit of jaggery solution in a bowl of water. If the drop mix with water then our jaggery syrup is not done yet. Remove it. It should be sticky or a form of a ball. Add baking soda into it and stir it.
4.Add the roasted sesame seed and roasted coarsely crushed peanuts.
5.Cool down the mixture for 5 min .spread ghee on palm while making ladoo .make a ladoo while the mixture is hot otherwise the mixture gets tough.

Tip: If the mixture gets tough while making of ladoo add a little bit of water or cook it again. Do not overcook the  mixture.
